Shibuya, Tokyo

The Shibuya Incident arc takes place around Shibuya Station, and the anime's official site publishes a map of the arc's locations. The site describes the multi-cornered crossing in front of the station as one where upwards of 1,000 people cross at a time. Take photos from the sidewalk, not in the middle of traffic.

How the official map is organized

The anime's official site presents the Shibuya Incident map as a current-position tracker that can be switched to a timeline view. The timeline is split into seven stops: after episode 32 (episodes 31-32), after 34 (33-34), after 37 (35-37), after 39 (38-39), after 41 (40-41), after 45 (42-45) and after 47 (46-47). Viewers can use it to follow where the arc has moved at each point in the story.

Getting to the crossing and what is nearby

GO TOKYO, the Tokyo tourism board's travel guide, describes the crossing as a landmark where upwards of 1,000 people cross at a time, coming from all directions. It lists Shibuya Station, served by the JR, Ginza, Keio Inokashira and Tokyu Toyoko lines, as the way to get there, and it labels the spot as free.

The guide suggests starting at the station end and crossing toward Shibuya Center Gai, a street with hundreds of shops, bars and restaurants. For a view from above, it points to the Starbucks directly overhead. It advises checking official sources for current information before visiting.
