This public library, part of the Hida City Hall complex, is a model location for the film. It is a working library: ask at the counter before taking any photos inside and keep quiet.

Opening hours and closing days
According to the library's own website, it is open Tuesday through Saturday and on public holidays from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., and on Sundays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Hida City's facility page adds that weekday closing is 7 p.m. in winter.
The library is closed every Monday (the following weekday if Monday is a holiday), on the last Friday of each month for collection upkeep, over the New Year holidays and during special inspection periods. Check the library's page before you go.
Getting there and parking
The library is at 2-22 Honmachi, Furukawa-cho, Hida, and the library's access page gives about 5 minutes on foot from Hida-Furukawa Station on the JR Takayama Line. The city hall stands in the same area, and the Hida City tourism site says its free public parking lot is open to visitors, so drivers can leave the car there and explore the station area on foot.
Inside the library
Hida City's tourism site says there is a dedicated Your Name. corner at the back of the library. For the film's 10th anniversary, the bookmarks that drew attention ten years earlier and the display in front of the library were reissued, and visitors may take a bookmark home for free.
The same site reminds visitors that students study and residents read here, so quiet is expected. Anyone who wants to photograph the interior must first tell the staff, who hand out a permit.
