Hida City promotes Furukawa as a model for scenes in the film. The footbridge on the north side of the station is the famous scene, and a train stops on platform 2, as in the film, only once a day, at 9:57. Trains are infrequent, so check the timetable.

Hida City's official Your Name. walking course lists this local shrine as a model location in the film. It sits on a slope above Furukawa, about 15 minutes on foot from the station, with a view over the town. Its annual festival on April 19–20 is the Furukawa Festival, a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage.
