The places

Hida-Furukawa Station
Hida, Gifu
Hida City promotes Furukawa as a model for scenes in the film. The station appears when Taki travels to look for Mitsuha, and the view of the platform from the footbridge is a classic photo spot. Trains are infrequent, so check the timetable.

Hida City Library
Hida, Gifu
The library where Taki researches the town of Itomori was modeled on this public library, part of the Hida City Hall complex. It is a working library: ask at the counter before taking any photos inside and keep quiet.

Keta Wakamiya Shrine
Hida, Gifu
Hida City's official Your Name. walking course lists this local shrine as a model location in the film. It sits on a slope above Furukawa, about 15 minutes on foot from the station, with a view over the town. Its annual festival on April 19-20 is the Furukawa Festival, a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage.
