The observation deck 100 m above Kyoto Station. Keihan Electric Railway runs its official Sound! Euphonium collaboration here in autumn 2026, with photo spots, character panels and limited goods, and a second Kyoto Animation collaboration follows it into January 2027. The deck itself is open all year; the collaborations are dated, so check the campaign page before you go.

Hours, tickets and the telescopes
The observation deck is open from 10:00 to 21:00, with last entry at 20:30, every day of the year, though the tower says hours can change without notice. Standard tickets are about 1,000 yen for adults, about 800 yen for high school students, about 700 yen for elementary and junior high students and about 300 yen for children aged 3 and up. Children under 3 are free. Tickets are sold at the ticket counter on the first floor of the tower building.
Free telescopes on the fifth-floor deck look out over Kyoto's well-known sights, and on a clear day the tower says Osaka can be seen. It also names Toji, Kiyomizu-dera, Nishi Hongan-ji, Tofuku-ji, Sanjusangen-do and Chion-in among the landmarks visible from the deck.
Reaching the tower from the station
The tower is about 2 minutes on foot from the central exit of JR Kyoto Station. Cross the signal beyond the bus terminal to reach the entrance. The tower has no parking of its own, so drivers are directed to nearby coin parking, which it puts at roughly 1,800 yen maximum for 24 hours.
