The course behind Hokage Rock
The Shinobi Village attraction is a three-story course located behind an 11-meter-tall replica of Hokage Rock. Visitors collect stamps along the way and combine hand seals to activate magic, which opens closed doors on the route to the goal on the third floor. The operator lists estimated times of about 60 minutes for the Heaven Volume, about 30 minutes for the Earth Volume, and about 60 minutes for the Earth Volume Side Story.
Children under 2 years old cannot take part in the Heaven Volume attraction for safety reasons. A mission rally is also part of the offer: visitors carry a scroll and look for 12 marks scattered around the village. After dark, a projection mapping show lights up Hokage Rock with characters and light effects, and a free smartphone app adds AR photo spots around the area.
Tickets and rules
The operator sells several ticket types, and prices vary by season. The Light Ticket, which covers admission, the Heaven Volume, the Earth Volume and the projection mapping, ranges from about 3,300 to about 4,100 yen for adults (age 12 and up) and about 1,800 to about 2,200 yen for children aged 5 to 11. Children aged 4 and under enter free. Higher tiers add special missions or bags, and premium tickets run to roughly 11,300-about 13,500 yen for adults.
Children of elementary-grade age and younger must be accompanied by a guardian, who also needs an attraction ticket. Pets are not allowed in the area unless carried in a locked cage. Because of steep slopes, wheelchairs and strollers cannot enter, but a stroller parking area is provided near the information desk.
Hours, photos and what to wear
The page lists opening hours of 10:00 to 20:00, with last entry at 18:00, and notes that hours change with the season. The address is 2425-2 Kusumoto, Awaji City, Hyogo Prefecture. For visitors coming from Osaka or Kobe, the operator promotes an express bus called Kakehashi Naruto, with a direct bus set ticket for Shinobi Village. Check the operator's page before you go.
The course uses a hillside prefectural park area with steep stairs, so the operator advises comfortable clothing and shoes suited to mountain hiking, and extra care on rainy days when the ground can be slippery. Cosplay is welcome if visitors take care not to disturb the atmosphere. Photography and social media posting are allowed except in certain areas of the Earth Volume zone, and staff announce those areas on the day.
