In MF Ghost, Odawara Castle appears as the town's race-broadcast base station for the story's motorsport series. The castle is thought to have begun as a mid-15th-century fortress built by the Omori clan. Five generations of the Later Hōjō clan then expanded it into a castle town whose surrounding walls reached a total length of roughly 9 km. The 1590 siege by Toyotomi Hideyoshi ended the Sengoku era there, and the current keep was rebuilt in 1960, ninety years after the castle itself was abolished. A single Tenshukaku keep ticket also covers the SAMURAI-kan hall at Tokiwagi-mon Gate, though the NINJA-kan history hall needs its own ticket.
