The Bridge and Its Predecessor
Chichibu City's cultural property page gives the bridge as 134.6 meters long and 6 meters wide. It is described as one of the early large concrete arch bridges in Saitama and a valuable relic of modern engineering. The bridge was designated a prefectural tangible cultural property on March 19, 1999. Only two piers and two gateposts remain of the first Chichibu Bridge, built in 1885 as one of Japan's oldest truss bridges. A gatepost carries an inscription dated December 1885, and the piers use stone from the town of Ogano.
Clean-Ups and Festival Tie-Ins
Chichibu City's tourism site says a fan clean-up, the "Seichi Chichibu Osoji Daisakusen," was held around the bridge on June 7, 2026, with litter picking and weeding planned and a request to wear clothes that could get dirty. The same page lists a ryusei rocket festival on October 11, 2026, and says the Anohana rocket was set to be the ninth launch of the day, at 10:40.
