Early morning
Fukuoka Airport → Hakata Station
The Fukuoka City Subway Airport Line runs from under the domestic terminal to Hakata in about 5 min and on to Tenjin in about 11 min. From the international terminal, take the free shuttle bus to the domestic terminal first. Buy the Fukuoka City Subway 1-Day Pass at any ticket machine: about ¥640 for adults and ¥320 for children, valid only on the day you buy it.

Pokémon Center Fukuoka
On the 2nd floor of Hakata Marui, inside the station complex, open roughly 10:00–21:00 every day. It moved here from Tenjin, so older guides send you to the wrong department store. Nintendo FUKUOKA, on the 8th floor of AMU PLAZA Hakata across the concourse, opened in November 2025 and runs roughly 10:00–20:00 on the mall's calendar; it is a game store rather than an anime one, but it is thirty seconds away.

Canal City Hakata
About 10 min on foot from Hakata Station, or a short bus ride. Four official shops sit in one complex: THE GUNDAM BASE FUKUOKA on the 1st floor of the South Building, with a build room; the Jump Shop and Donguri Kyowakoku, for Studio Ghibli goods, on Center Walk B1; and the Bandai Namco Cross Store on South Building B1. All open roughly 10:00–21:00, and the complex itself is open year-round.

Kushida Shrine
About 2 min from the Canal City Hakata-mae bus stop and free to enter; the main hall is open roughly 4:00–22:00 and the amulet desk 9:00–17:00. A decorated Hakata Gion Yamakasa float about 13 m tall stands in the precinct all year except June. The festival's own organisers say the rear panel of a float is often based on a TV anime, but the 2026 float at Kushida shows the Battle of Sekigahara, so check the theme before you make a special trip. Lunch in the Kawabata arcade next door.
Afternoon
Nakasu-Kawabata → Tenjin
One subway stop, or about 15 min on foot along the river. In Tenjin, Mugiwara Store Fukuoka is on the 7th floor of Fukuoka PARCO: the official ONE PIECE chain store and the only one in Kyushu, open on the department store's hours of roughly 10:00–20:30, directly connected to Nishitetsu Fukuoka (Tenjin) Station and to subway exit 7.

Animate's Fukuoka store is moving. Until October 23, 2026 it is on the 8th floor of Fukuoka PARCO, in the same building as the Mugiwara Store. From October 24, 2026 it is on the 8th floor of LACHIC Fukuoka Tenjin, directly connected to Nishitetsu Fukuoka (Tenjin) Station, open roughly 10:00–20:00, and an event-focused annex opens on PARCO's 8th floor from November 2, 2026.
Late afternoon
Sazae-san Street and Seaside Momochi
Take the subway west to Nishijin. Fukuoka City officially named this 1.6 km road Sazae-san Street in 2012, for Machiko Hasegawa, who created Sazae-san while living in the area; it runs down to the entrance of Seaside Momochi Seaside Park, past the Fukuoka City Museum. The city names the street and nothing more, so there is no statue or marker to hunt for. Fukuoka Tower and the beach are at the far end, and it is a good place for sunset.

Back to Fukuoka Airport
Nishijin is on the same Airport Line, so the ride back is direct with no change. We could not find an official journey time for this leg, so allow about 25 min plus the walk from Momochi, and add the usual margin before an international flight.
