Hours, Tickets and Free Entry
The Canal Hall is open from 9:30 to 17:00 every day, with no weekly closing day, except December 29 to January 3. Adults pay about 300 yen, high school students and residents age 70 and over pay about 150 yen, and junior high students and younger enter free. Groups of 20 or more get a 20 percent discount, and holders of disability certificates and their carers enter free. A combined ticket for about 600 yen adds the museum's main building and the former Nippon Yusen Otaru branch, good for two opening days. Check the operator's page before you go.
Getting There
The museum says the Canal Hall is roughly 10 minutes on foot from Otaru Station, heading toward the canal. A free lot with 12 spaces is about 100 meters north of the entrance. The main building is separate, about 1.5 kilometers away along the north canal.
