Getting there from the nearest stations
The museum's address is 7-65 Mukogawa-cho, Takarazuka. The city's access page gives roughly 10 minutes on foot from JR or Hankyu Takarazuka Station along the Hana-no-michi, a flower-lined walkway. From Hankyu Takarazuka-Minamiguchi Station it is roughly 7 minutes on foot across the Takarazuka Ohashi bridge.
The museum has no parking lot of its own. The city points drivers to nearby paid lots, and bicycles and motorbikes can be left at the neighboring Takarazuka City Performing Arts Center.
Hours, admission and the animation workshop
The museum is open from 9:30 to 17:00, with the last entry at 16:30. It closes on Mondays (it stays open if Monday is a national holiday, and during spring and summer school breaks), from December 29 to 31, and usually for maintenance in late February. Adult admission is about 700 yen, junior and senior high school students pay about 300 yen and elementary school children pay about 100 yen. The adult price is due to rise to about 900 yen on March 1, 2027. Visitors from abroad who show a KANSAI RAILWAY PASS or KANSAI ONE PASS get 20 percent off, and prices and closing days can change, so check the museum's page before you go.
The Animation Workshop on the ground floor lets visitors try the basics of animation with a pencil and the kind of paper used in real animation production. Each session takes about 40 minutes and has room for 14 people. Timed sessions start at 9:45 and run about every 45 minutes, with the last at 15:45, and they are normally held only on weekends and holidays.
Photos and the garden
Still photos are generally allowed inside, except in the second-floor special exhibition room, where the rule depends on the exhibition. Video is banned except at two spots: the self-made animations at the workshop and the copycat robot experience.
The garden on the north side of the building holds 10 Tezuka characters, which visitors can look for with a map. Anyone who leaves the building for the garden can walk back in on the same day.
